with the great news, Nancy
thought Carol was "pulling
her leg".
Cory’s second
BIS
came on August 6,
1995 at Coulee Kennel Club.
"Cory" is the first
homebred champion out of
BISS Am Ch. Nanstar’s
Bright Sierra, UD, Can
OTCH
( 1987 PCA
National
Specialty BOB ).
But what has
endeared him to me the
most are his antics
around the house.
If the phone
isn’t answered on
the second ring, he does
circles and barks.
I always thought
he would be easily
trained for a hearing
dog program.
He proved
this on a very cold
Minnesota morning when
my son, Greg, locked
himself out of the house
on his way to work.
I woke up at
7:00AM to a series of 4
or 5 barks, silence and
more barks.
When I opened the
bedroom door, Cory was
waiting for me and
he raced to the front door
barking and doing
circles the whole way.
Greg was standing
outside freezing.
Greg said Cory
appeared at the front
door, disappeared and
reappeared.
He was barking at
my door, returning to
check on Greg and back
to
my door until he woke me
up.
Cory and Greg
were always close, but
this incident has made
their relationship even
more
special.
Cory is truly a
special little dog
whether in the show ring
or as a "family pet"
