A litter
of two bitches and a
male resulted. The
litter was raised in
Betty's house and it was
clear early on that she
felt Tina
would be special. How
right she was. I first
saw the litter when
Betty brought the
puppies to Carlotta's
house. Tina just
sparkled.
In
spite of her very
independent personality,
Tina quickly finished
her Championship with
Betty handling. Soon
after,
the very
tough decision to send
Tina off to Canada was
made.
When Butch MacDonald and
his wife, Cec Ringstrom, saw
Tina in May of 2006,
they were
captivated. Butch felt
that Tina
had BIS
potential and was very
excited at the prospect
of showing her. It was
heartbreaking for Betty
to part with her but off
she
went. Within a month of
showing her, he made
good on his prediction.
Tina took three group
ones in succession,
a BIS at
Edmonton Kennel Club,
BISS at the Papillon
Club of Ontario and BOS
at the Canadian
National. Tina had
arrived !
Tina came back to the
States in time for
Westminster 2007.
There, she was awarded
BOS. From there on,
Carlotta assumed
the handling duties.
Due to the poor health
of several of Carlotta's
family members, Tina's
shows were limited. No
matter,
she
quickly racked up group
wins and placements. On
April 16, 2007, I
received the call from
Carlotta and Betty,
saying that
Tina had just gone BIS
at the Rhode Island
Kennel Club! This made
her the first BIS
Papillon in 2007. She
also became the
second Bitch to have
both an American and
Canadian BIS. Carlotta
was especially excited
since she had the thrill
of showing
Tina's Grandfather,
Am/Can Ch Arkeno's Let
it Ride, to two BIS as
well.
Since the BIS, Tina has
proven that she can do
her thing with any one
of her owners on the
lead. At the Atlantic
Shore
Memorial Classic, Tina
went back to back to
back Group 1's with me
as her handler. Tina
has always been owner
handled
and she
has allowed each owner
to experience the
excitement and
accomplishment of
showing her. We look
forward to
wherever Tina leads us.
