The first meeting of the current Papillon Club of America, held at Sallie Pinckney's house, 1948. Present were Mrs. E. W. Kemmerer, Dr. Henry Fleming, Miss Pinckney, Mrs. Lottie Armour, unidentified member, Mr. Ed Domser, Estelle Bertine, and Catharine Gauss. Mrs. Gauss is the only one of these original members still active in the breed.

2nd NATIONAL SPECIALTY, WESTCHESTER K. C., 1954 - This is the entire "Specials" class. Left to right; Dr. Henry C. Fleming, Ch. Best Man of Pinqueny; a friend of Miss Pinckney's, Ch. Goldenrod of Pinqueny; Mr. Edward Domser, Ch. Peppy; Mrs. Sara Francke, Ch. Mavourneen of Royal Elm; Miss Sallie Pinckney, Ch. Daffodil of Pinqueny, B. O. S.; Miss Anna Katherine Nicholas, judge; Mrs. H. C. Fleming, Ch. Little Sheba; Mrs. E. W. Kemmerer, Ch. Marquis of Harleymeads, Ch. Comus of Dulceda; Ernst Hamburger, Ch. Ywain of Dulceda, B.O.B.; Mme. Henri de Meulenaere, Bijou des Poids Plumes, BW, WB  ---  NOTE: Ywain won this Specialty from Veterans, the only such win at a P.C.A. Specialty. Mr. Hamburger had been manager and handler for Yvonne Auer's Papillons, and he took the Veteran in so that Mrs. Kemmerer could handle Marquis. Mme. Meulenaere of Nazareth, Belgium, was a visitor at this Specialty, and the breeder of Miss Pinckney's Bijou, the only Phalene ever to win a top place at a Specialty; she repeated this win at the 1956 event for her title.

Los Angeles K.C., December 1953. Left, Nina Russell ( Mrs. Peterson's daughter ) with BOS, Ch. Kerberos Feuilleton; the judge, Marcella Bingham; right, Elizabeth Pearson with BOB Ch. Kerberos Chauve Souris. Both these dogs were bred by Yvonne Auer in Zurich and imported as puppies. Mrs. Pearson would never breed this bitch, but Ch. Kerberos Feuilleton is a pillar of the American breed.
