I have been a breeder of
Papillons for 47 years.
I have had many
champions in both breed
and degrees in
obedience.
I
bred the first Mexican
Champion Papillon.
I am still
breeding selectively and
showing occasionally.
I show mostly
puppies,
and have a professional
handler who takes my
specials into the ring.
I have been judging for
34 years, first the Toy
Group and then the
Non-Sporting Group and I
am almost finished with
the
Herding
Group. I have judged all over the United States, and many different
countries around the
world.
Actually, I
have
judged on every
continent except
Antarctica (don’t
think they show dogs
there!)
I still enjoy
meeting the dogs, and
exhibitors.
I am a retired
schoolteacher, having
taught 30 years in the
public schools.
I taught Science
to High School Freshmen
who
were mentally and
emotionally handicapped.
I also taught the
younger students in the
regular science classes
as well.
I
found the dogs were a
great attraction to the
students and many of
them came to the dog
shows and helped.
I write columns for many
dog magazines.
In the past for
the AKC Gazette, Top
Notch Toys, and now
Showsight.
I was the
judge’s education
coordinator for eight
years, and ran the
learning seminars for
judges of the Papillon.
I am also a
Delegate
to the AKC for the
Papillon Club of
America.
I have been a member of
the PCA since 1956.
I now am working
with the Canine Health
Council and am a
Heritage society
member.
I am also active
with the committee that
works with the research
projects.
