Lois Bitter-Skalsky

Lois Bitter-Skalsky joined PCA in 1967

I chaired three Midwest National Specialties through the years : Green Bay, Wisconsin when a tornado blew the roof off the

host hotel the night before the Specialty, Chicago, Illinois, when the site had to be changed due to hotel bankruptcy

( received our initial down payment of $ 200.00 years later ), Delavan, Wisconsin, most recent, when the first tracking dog

competition was held at a Specialty.

I have held various offices in the club : President, Vice President ( for a short time ) as a replacement, and a Trusteeship for

a number of years. I was a member of the first Genetics Committee; I think it was called The Health Committee then.

I’ve raised many litters of paps, always trying to improve the breed.  There have been many Bittersuite champions and all

of them have been my pets and constant companions.

House building in Hawaii has been and is a challenging experience.  I’ve raised one Hawaiian litter, haven’t gone to many

shows, but have become a member of the Orchid Island Kennel Club on the big Island.
