My interest in animals
started when I was very
young. I grew up on my
uncle’s farm in
Minnesota, where I
enjoyed working
with all of the farm
animals, including
chickens, ducks, horses,
cows and the family dog,
a mixed-breed herding
dog named
"Happy".
While I raised three children, my love for dogs continued to evolve. I
was a Leader for the 4-H
Dog Project for several
years.
My oldest daughter was
interested in horses,
but my youngest daughter
and my son focused on
dog obedience. I became
the
training director for
the San Antonio Dog
Training Club, whereI
discovered the
intelligence of the
Papillon in the
mid-70’s.
In 1978, I became a Papillon owner and from that day forward my days have
been filled with dog
activities, club work
and
great love for the
breed. I served on the
PCA Board of Directors
for eight years as Vice
President and I am
entering my
second term as a Board
Director in 2009.
I returned to college and graduated with a degree in photography and
graphic art in 2000 at
the age of 57. I served
as the
PCA Editor in 1981-1983
and most recently in
2007-2008. I was
instrumental in taking
the black/white issue of
our club
newsletter to living
color in a beautiful
quarterly magazine
called the Pap Talk
Quarterly.
I have enjoyed giving my time to the Papillon Club of America in many
areas, including serving
as the first chairman of
the
PRA Fundraising
Committee, as well as
liaison to several
committees
I feel honored to be nominated as an Honorary Life Member of the Papillon
Club of America.
