CHAMPION OF HEALTH AWARD PROGRAM 2010

  

The PCA Health and Genetics committee is very pleased to announce that the Board of PCA

has approved a program to honor, celebrate, and acknowledge Papillons that are

outstanding specimens of breed.  A CHAMPION OF HEALTH award will be awarded yearly at

our National Award banquet.

  

Any AKC registered Papillon that is an outstanding representative of the breed may be

nominated for this honor.  Nominations must be submitted to the Genetics Committee

through committee member : Elaine Zech, by March 15, 2010. 

CHIC ( Canine Health Information Center ) will select the CHAMPION OF HEALTH from

the nominations that are submitted.

   

A silver medallion with the dog’s name inscribed will be given to the owner of the

CHAMPION OF HEALTH at the National Awards Banquet.  A donation in the amount of one

hundred dollars will also be donated to the CHF Papillon Donor Advisory Fund in the name

of the winning Papillon that has received the CHAMPION OF HEALTH award.  

 

Requirements for submission of a nominee for the 2010 National Award are as follows :

 

 

 

1.

It is recommended that nominees for CHAPIONS OF HEALTH AWARD to be

health tested as recommended by PCA for CHIC certification.

The recommended testing includes an eye exam ( CERF ), Patella evaluation

and Cardiac exam with the results registered with the OFA. 

 

 

2.

The Papillon may be nominated by anybody that has knowledge of the

accomplishments of the dog.  Nominations submitted must include the

registered name, titles, birthdate, AKC registration number, the breeder

and the current owner.

 

 

3.

A letter must be submitted with the nomination stating the Papillon’s

accomplishments.  This may include: outstanding show career, outstanding

offspring produced, whether in performance, conformation, or service.

The nominator must state why they believe this Papillon is worthy of this award.

 

 

4.

Nominations must be submitted by March 15, 2010. 

 

A confirmation of email submissions will be sent to the person making the

nominee.  If you do not receive a confirmation, please resubmit or send it by

snail mail.

All entries will be forwarded to CHF/CHIC for the final selections. CHF will

notify the Genetics committee of the winner and an award will be given to

the winner at the Awards Banquet at the PCA National in DesMoines, IA.

 

The winner will receive a silver medallion with the dogs name engraved on it.

The winning dog will also have a $100 contribution made to Canine Health

Foundation in his honor.

 

 

   

We are anxious to receiving your nominations and learn about all of

the wonderful dogs that are making a positive impact  in the Papillon breed.
